The invention of milk chocolate
Milk chocolate was invented by Daniel Peter, another famous Swiss chocolate maker, with Henri Nestlé back in 1875. Gruyere, Switzerland is where the Swiss Alexandre-Louis Cailer built a new factory following the launch of what is now the oldest Swiss chocolate brand. The combination of milk and cocoa turned the products manufactured under the Cailler brand into something very special.
The experience and know-how we have gained over more than 100 years is of course an invaluable asset for the continous development of new high quality chocolate products. Consumers love their familiar favourite chocolates but they also like to be enticed. That's why we constantly have to come up with new ideas in product and packaging to delight our consumers.
