The very basis of our approach is
compliance with all applicable laws as well as with our internal regulations, which often go beyond legal requirements. For us this is non negotiable.
The next key element of how we do business is sustainability. To us, sustainability means “development which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs”, in accordance with the definition of the World Commission on Environment and Development (the Brundtland Commission).
We believe that there is a third level, which goes beyond sustainability: to create value for shareholders and society in a manner that is integrally linked to our core business strategies and operations. We call this Creating Shared Value; value created for shareholders, employees, farmers, consumers and the communities where we operate. Given our Company’s business, our efforts in creating shared value will naturally focus on the areas of nutrition, water and rural development.
