We have helped to set up better systems for the harvesting, fermentation and drying of beans, and a Nestlé agronomist provides technical assistance, teaching farmers about pruning and organic fertilisation.

Nestlé has also established community shops in Ecuador and provides nutritional advice, but a significant achievement remains the change on local people’s mentality, from being accustomed to working individually to the wider benefits that come from working together in cooperatives.
