Abidjan Research & Development Center opening
NESTLÉ R&D CENTRE ABIDJAN: Creating Shared Value for both the company and rural communities
On April 30, 2009, Nestlé inaugurated a new R&D centre in Abidjan. The first Nestlé R&D centre of its kind in Africa, the facility is dedicated to improving the quality of locally-sourced raw materials including cocoa, coffee and cassava.
The opening of the R&D centre reinforces the Company's commitment to rural development in Africa and is a further illustration of the principle of Creating Shared Value, Nestlé's way of doing business which simultaneously creates value for the company and the communities in which it operates.
