- Product Technology Centres (PTCs), each aligned with particular Nestlé businesses to provide expertise for specific product categories. Together they form a hub for global product and process development.
- Research and Development Centres (R&D), working in close collaboration with the Product Technology Centres to meet regional R&D requirements and provide input to local application groups.

PTC Marysville, United States Opened in 1948
Focus: Marysville is Nestlé’s Product Technology Centre for ready-to-drink beverage development. It also has major programmes in coffee, instant beverages, ice cream coatings, confectionery, non-dairy creamers and milk modifiers.
R&D Minneapolis, United StatesOpened in 1974
Focus: Innovating superior nutrition solutions recognised to serve the needs of patients and care-givers.
R&D Solon, United StatesOpened in 2001
Focus: Solon is a centre of excellence for frozen and chilled culinary products and convenience baking.
R&D Queretaro, Mexico Opened in 1990
