The Nestlé Research Centre in Lausanne, together with its hubs in St Louis and Beijing, are responsible for scientific discovery as well as basic and applied research.

Located close to Lausanne, Switzerland, the Nestlé Research Center is the world’s largest private nutrition research institution, specialising in food, nutrition, safety, quality and life sciences. The Nestlé Research Centre has a diverse staff of 650, including over 300 research scientists from a broad range of scientific competencies. The Nestlé Research Centre plays a crucial role in providing the scientific and technological basis for renovation and innovation of products across the whole of Nestlé.

Beijing Research CentreNestlé Research Centre, Beijing, China
Food safety and quality is a major focus of the new centre. In addition R&D Beijing works on nutrition and life sciences research, food technology, processing and packaging. Life sciences research at the Beijing R&D Centre uses different approaches to address three key consumer health benefits – growth and development, healthy ageing and weight management.

A small team run the Nestlé Research Centre within the Petcare Product Technology Centre in St Louis, USA.  The focus is to develop innovative nutritional solutions to improve pet health and wellness. The scientists working in this group have diverse research expertise including immunology, molecular nutrition, digestive health, growth and development, and aging.
