At the age of twenty, I swore I’d never had kids. At the age of thirty I have two perfect kids and I couldn’t be a prouder mum if I tried. Those wonderful moments that seem simple at the time are wonderful memories to cherish forever. The warm cosy hug we get in the mornings when the room is bitter and cold, to the broadest of smiles when they see your face light up with pride at a job well done. Yes, I’m the proudest mum, far from the girl who never wanted to be the mum. I can’t imagine now, why I ever felt that way. Both my children will be full time at school and I’ll soon be fighting against what I’ve learnt over the past eight years. I’ll be trying to be me again, but I don’t think that me can ever be the same again for the magical touch that comes from being a mother changes you forever, and who knows what person I’ll find? Who ever she turns out to be, she’ll still be the proudest mum ever with lots of precious memories that are still collecting as we all grow and learn together as a family. What could be more special than that?
