Grandma's Pies

I remember my grandmother making apple pies in the farm house kitchen every Saturday. Grandpa would sit in a wood straight back chair and peel apples from the farm's apple trees. Grandma rolled out the dough on the counter and I sat on on a metal step stool beside her, watching her and listening while she talked to me. I can remember the smell of the pies as they baked in the wood burning kitchen stove and the delicious flavor as I ate a warm slice that noon with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on it.
