I was just 24 when I married and had never cooked anything before then. My husband loved good home cooked food and the first thing he made me cook was mutton bafat. The ingredients for this dish needed grinding and back in 1968 in Mumbai we did not have grinders or mixers so I had to sit and grind the ingredients on a huge grinding stone which took me almost 45 mins! But the dish was so good that I would make it at least 2 to 3 times a week. Now I have been blessed with the talent of cooking and love to try out various dishes that my children and grandchildren love.
