Pumpkin Pie - with salt

I remember when I was a little girl and mom was baking, she would let me stand on a stool and help her bake. I remember one Thanksgiving, when I was around 7 years old, my mom let me make my own pumpkin pie. She bought me the little pie tins and she gave me the leftovers scraps from her homemade dough. I lined those pie tins with that dough and then added salt, lots of salt. Then I took her leftover pie filling and added it on top of all that salt. After I smoothed in the filling I added more salt. Never once did my mom stop me. She just let me enjoy cooking. However I do feel sorry for my dad, because he ate my pumpkin pie and told me it was the best pie he ever ate.
