These coconut cookie bars are really quick and easy to make. They are great for snack or lunch time treat. Recipe from Nestlé USA.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup / 100 g Butter (or margerine)
  • 1 1/2 cups / 175 g Graham cracker crumbs (or Digestive biscuit crumbs)
  • 1 can (14oz) / 1 can (397g) NESTLÉ CARNATION Sweetened condensed milk 
  • 2 cups / 300 g NESTLÉ TOLL HOUSE Semi sweet chocolate morsels (*See cooks note)
  • 1 cup / 75 g Flaked coconut (or Dessicated coconut)
  • 1 cup / 100 g Walnuts (chopped)

Preparation steps

  • COOKS NOTE: If Nestlé Toll House Semi sweet morsels are not available in your area you can use a dark/plain Nestlé Chocolate to replace them. Select a Nestlé chocolate with 45-55% cocoa solids. Chop the chocolate into small pieces before using in the recipe
  • Pre-heat the oven to 350°F/180°C.
  • Place the butter or margerine in 13 x 9 inch/ 33 x 22 cm baking pan. Place the pan in the oven until the fat is melted. Remove from the oven.
  • Sprinkle the graham cracker/digestive biscuit crumbs over the melted butter. Stir well and then press in an even layer onto the bottom of the pan.
  • Pour the Nestlé Carnation Sweetened condensed milk evenly over the crumbs. Sprinkle with morsels, coconut and nuts. Press down firmly.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Cut into 24 bars.
