Future directions in water management
In the greenhouses of Nestlé’s R&D Centre at Tours in France, scientists are developing coffee and cocoa plants
which may be tested for potential drought resistance.
Nestlé will offer its experience to the broader water management debate
Long-term access to adequate water for our food and beverage products is core to Nestlé’s business.
This demands continuous improvement on water extraction, use and disposal standards. However, it also
relies on aspects that we do not control, such as water use and management by other local water users.
As such, Nestlé seeks to engage with others beyond our direct operations to address these issues. Going
forward, we would like to strengthen our focus and engagement in the following areas:
-
increased attention to local water conditions in operations.
