Nescafé Plan is seeking to increase farmers connect volumes and to train farmers to increase productivity. However to increase the impact of technical assistance, it is needed to provide farmers with business tools and skills to strengthen their organizations.
A 40 hours course has been organized between Nestlé México and Tecnologico de Monterrey (one of the most prestigious private university in LATAM). The program includes topics such as life plan, business plan and finances.
Value to Society
Around 200 coffee farmers from five producing states have been trained in three locations during the last two years.
Value to Nestlé
These farmers have trained their colleagues in these subjects. Additionally they have implemented these business tools in their own organizations. Currently nine cooperatives are in the process to implement their own business plans.
It is expected that around 500 farmers will participate in the Nescafé School within the next three years.
