I joined Nestlé as an IDP Marketing and Sales trainee. During the programme I worked in Category management, Sales, Innovation and Renovation.

It is a great program that offers you tons of possibilities both personally and professionally, but you need to have the ability and the willingness to adapt, learn fast and also the hunger and dedication to take these opportunities and make the most out of them anywhere, anyhow, anytime.

In my current role as a Brand Manager I oversee all activities in Ghana, Sierra Leone and Liberia that are linked to the Maggi brand. At Nestlé you have that special feeling of creating a better tomorrow for everyone which sounds very philanthropic but truly is the case. And I am very proud to be part of the initiatives that enhance lives of people in CWAR. During fortification project we first changed the packaging across the region to communicate the iodine content in Maggi, then project during which the main products in CWAR region are fortified with Iron to fight the most common micronutrient deficiency.

I really enjoyed the possibilities the IDP – Marketing and Sales offers, working in other countries, with people from all over the world. Though I would say it is not that easy to move into a new country, especially one that is so different from everything you have known before. Moving to this part of Africa and living and working here in a successful manner definitely has been one of the biggest challenges in my life.
