Nestlé’s interactive CSV graphic wins European Digital Communication Award

interactive CSV graphic

Nestlé’s interactive CSV graphic has won the 2015 European Digital Communication Award for Best Data Visualisation and Information Design.

The animation was designed to help users explore Nestlé’s 38 CSV commitments, a number of public commitments to society made by the company in areas relevant to its operations: Nutrition, water, rural development, sustainability and compliance.

The company aims to meet these commitments by 2020 or earlier and reports regularly on the progress made.

Wanting to transform these updates from a dull drop-down data table into something more engaging, the team developed a simple, visually impactful digital experience that empowers people to discover the information for themselves.

Since publishing it in March this year, the interactive tool has helped Nestlé reach significantly more people about CSV - unique page views have increased by 711% and the entrance rate has improved by 2,116%. The project has also provided a bank of content for Nestlé corporate communications teams to use across their digital platforms worldwide.

The European Digital Communication Awards honour achievements, professional campaigning and strategic thinking in online communications in 34 categories. This year, more than seven hundred entries were judged by a jury representing corporate communication professionals, digital agencies and academics from across Europe.
