Nestlé maintains high ranking in 2014 Dow Jones Sustainability Index

Nestlé remains one of the top food products companies in the new 2014 Dow Jones Sustainability Index released today.

Nestlé maintained its overall score of 88% relative to its 2013 ranking in the index, just below the industry best of 90%.

The Dow Jones Sustainability Index is based on an analysis of companies’ economic, environmental and social performance, including areas such as corporate governance, climate strategy, supply chain standards and labour practices.

Nestlé scored 99% in the 'Environment Dimension', reflecting the company's strong policies and transparent reporting in the area of environmental sustainability, including its climate change mitigation activities, water management practices and raw material sourcing.

Nestlé’s Environment Dimension ranking is the best in the industry and represents a 2 percentage point increase from Nestlé’s ranking in 2013.

The Dow Jones Sustainability Index is put together by S&P Dow Jones Indices and RobecoSAM, the investment specialist which focuses exclusively on sustainable investing.
