More than 376 water-saving projects are underway in Nestlé’s factories which are predicted to save around 1.84 million cubic meters of water.
In 2014 direct water withdrawals per tonne of product was reduced by 6%. Direct water withdrawals per tonne of product have now been reduced by 37% since 2005.
The new data is published this month in the 2014 Nestlé in society: Creating Shared Value summary report (pdf, 4Mb).
The amount of water discharged from the company’s global facilities is now less than half of what it was ten years ago.
