Nestlé extends the Alliance for YOUth to Latin America

Nestlé has joined forces with 37 companies to launch the Alliance for YOUth in the Pacific Alliance countries. At the Second Pacific Alliance Youth Summit in Santiago de Chile, the companies pledged to help more than 17,000 young people get ready to enter the world of work in Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru by 2019.

During the summit, the governments of the Pacific Alliance countries, Switzerland and Argentina, as well as the International Youth Organization for Ibero-America (OIJ), the International Labour Organization and the World Bank joined forces with business leaders to promote dual education schemes for young people under the age of 30.

Nestlé Head of Zone Americas Laurent Freixe said: "The launch of the Alliance for YOUth in Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru is a huge step forward to foster youth employability. At Nestlé we are committed to help create a more promising future for young people; that’s why we join forces with private companies, authorities, academic institutions and other key allies in Latin America, to have greater impact".

Nestlé founded the Alliance for YOUth in Europe in 2014. It is a part of our global commitment to youth employment.
