SPORTING COMPETITON: Healthy Kids' Athletics event at the Nestlé Headquarters
Olympic medalists and award-winning sportsmen helped a group of about 50 children experience the thrill of sporting competition as part of a Nestlé Kids' Athletics event on Friday.
The lawns at the Nestlé headquarters in Vevey, Switzerland, were transformed into a sports pitch with six separate events for the children to try - including sprinting, hurdles, relay, cross-hopping and pole-vaulting.
The sports event is part of Nestlé’s commitment to be the world’s leading Nutrition, Health and Wellness company and was organised with the IAAF (International Association of Athletics Federation) Kids’ Athletics programme, which encourages schoolchildren to participate in athletics while learning more about sport, nutrition and a healthy lifestyle.
This sports day was part of our Nestlé Healthy Kids programme that has reached 5.4 million children in 64 countries in 2012, and is being extended to reach 80 countries by 2015.
