Lars Olofsson, Executive Vice President in charge of Strategic Business Units, Marketing and Sales, has decided to pursue other interests outside Nestlé and will therefore leave the company at the end of the month. During his 32 years at Nestlé, Mr. Olofsson was successively General Manager of France Glaces Findus, Head of the Nordic markets and Head of Nestlé France. In 2001, he was appointed Executive Vice President responsible for Zone Europe and, from 2005, he was in charge of Strategic Business Units, Marketing and Sales.

Throughout his long and distinguished career at Nestlé, both in operations and when in charge of marketing strategy at headquarters, Mr. Olofsson played an important role in Nestlé’s conversion into the world's leading Nutrition, Health and Wellness company. “We respect Mr. Olofsson’s decision and thank him warmly for his many years of dedication and loyalty to Nestlé and his valuable contribution to our company's development”, said Paul Bulcke, Nestlé CEO.

Nestlé has asked Werner Bauer, Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, to take ad interim additional responsibility for Strategic Business Units, Marketing and Sales, effective today. Mr. Bauer already held this role on a previous occasion in 2004 and 2005. The Board of Directors will take a decision on a permanent appointment to this post in due time.
