It's this passion for bringing the taste of great coffee to any moment that's inspired us since 1938, when Max Morgenthaler invented a coffee powder that captured the bean's true aroma - a world first.
Every cup matters
Nescafé Plan is rooted in the belief that every cup of coffee can create a positive impact from bean to cup and beyond.
In 2025, over 100 000 coffee farmers in 15 countries were trained in regenerative agriculture practices, which is an approach to farming that aims to conserve and restore natural resources, primarily soil, as well as water and biodiversity, while capturing carbon in soils and plant biomass, and to support farmers’ livelihoods. Key practices promoted under the Nescafé Plan include efficient water use and optimized use of inputs.
Among all the initiatives started by Nescafé, here are some achievements in 2025:
- 1 600+ field staff, including agronomists, working with coffee farmers in Nescafé Plan field programs
- 20.3 million coffee plantlets distributed in 2025 (with a cumulative total of about 335 million since 2010) to support better yields and climate adaptation
- 53% of our green coffee came from farmers adopting regenerative agriculture practices (up from 32% in 2024)
Nescafé also implements projects to reduce waste and innovate for circularity.

From crash to opportunity
The Wall Street Crash sent the price of coffee plummeting, leaving the Brazilian government with an enormous coffee surplus. They turned to us for help preserving the harvest: could we turn the beans into a soluble coffee?
1938
Aroma, perfected
