From dairy heritage to everyday inspiration

In 1899, founder E.A. Stuart established Carnation in Washington, with a simple belief that high-quality milk came from healthy, well-cared-for cows. This idea inspired the famous 'Contented Cows' philosophy and helped shape the values that continue to guide the brand today.

More than a century later, that same spirit of care extends beyond the farm - through the Nestlé Dairy Plan, which supports farmer livelihoods, promotes animal welfare in line with Nestlé's Responsible Sourcing Core Requirements, and is designed to help reduce GHG emissions across the dairy supply chain. Carnation continues to uphold the quality and care behind every deliciously creamy creation. Explore our Nestlé Dairy Plan Progress Report (pdf, 13Mb) in detail.
