1982
A new way to indulge your cat
The Purina Fancy Feast concept launched in 1982 for a growing number of cat owners who wanted to pamper their cats. A first-of-its-kind offering: an indulgent, gourmet single serve 3.0 oz. can.
1984
Get in the feastivities spirit
The Fancy Feast brand begins issuing an annual holiday ornament in the U.S. and Canada. The ornament soon becomes a popular holiday tradition. In 2020, Fancy Feast would build on the holiday celebrations with the release of its first Advent Calendar.
1987
Mon Petit in Japan
The Mon Petit brand officially launches in Japan, its first market in Asia.
1995
Distinctly European
Fancy Feast launched in Europe under the Gourmet brand and it resonated strongly with European cat owners.
1999
Continued innovation
As Fancy Feast continues to innovate with new products experiences, the brand is now selling over 40 different varieties. Introducing Fancy Feast Elegant Medleys launched in 2006 is inspired by recipes from around the world.

Latin America

Fancy Feast Broths is introduced featuring tender bites of real meat and fish, paired with real and recognizable ingredients like carrots, potatoes, spinach, and other vegetables all crafted without by-products or fillers. Fancy Feast Appetizers would become the first line of meal compliments for cats in 2009.
