Nestlé Health Science has launched a new online resource on specific types of carbohydrates, referred to as FODMAPs , that can cause symptoms such as abdominal pain in people with digestive sensitivities.

LowFODMAPCentral.com will have information and tools for consumers and health care professionals on FODMAPs and a Low FODMAP diet.

FODMAPs’, or Fermentable Oligosaccharides, Disaccharides, Monosaccharides and Polyols, are types of short-chain carbohydrates that can be poorly absorbed in the small intestine.

They’re commonly found in a wide variety of foods including wheat bread, mushrooms, milk, apples and more.

LowFODMAPCentral.com is part of Nestlé Health Science’s mission to advance the role of nutrition in health management.
