- "Malnutrition in older people: identify & intervene"
On 18 January 2010, Nestlé Nutrition hosted a media roundtable, which highlighted the nutritional issues of the older adult population.
A panel of experts discussed the high prevalence of malnutrition in the elderly and its negative impact on health and independence. They explained why nutrition is a very important part of high quality geriatric care; and should involve a screening programme to identify malnutrition (or risk of malnutrition) followed by appropriate nutrition intervention.
In addition, this event also marked the launch of Nestlé Nutrition’s new oral nutritional supplement tailored to unique needs of older adults.
