Nestlé Purina Petcare Europe is relaunching and expanding its popular Gourmet Perle range as it looks to meet increasing demand for premium wet cat food, a key growth platform for Nestlé in the pet food category.
Today's cat owners are paying closer attention to what goes on their pet's plate – from the quality of ingredients to how recipes are made – and increasingly value higher-quality options.
With around 108 million pet cats across Europe, the category continues to offer significant opportunities for growth, particularly in wet food, which caters to 'feline foodies' who enjoy variety and refined textures. In this context, premium wet cat food is among the fastest-growing categories globally, with around +6% value growth, highlighting strong demand for more elevated, high-quality feeding experiences.
Gourmet Perle brings together a collection of daily recipes, formulated with care, to deliver consistent quality and delectable, complete and balanced recipes. Each recipe reflects the attention to detail behind the range – from carefully selected ingredients to the texture and presentation that make everyday feeding moments special.
The relaunched Gourmet Perle range is available now in stores across Europe in almost 30 markets, including France, Italy, Germany and UK. It features a refreshed look designed to stand out on shelf and make it easier for cat owners to explore the range.
As part of the relaunch, Purina is also introducing Gourmet Perle Ocean Flakes – a new, rich in fish range inspired by the delicate flakes of human cuisine. This distinctive flaky texture brings a new way for cats to enjoy recipes rich in fish, offering visible, delicate pieces designed to appeal to cats.
As part of Nestlé's renewed commitment to strong marketing support behind its key brands, the relaunch is being brought to life through a new 'Shine Like a Pearl' campaign. Like a pearl, each recipe is shaped by time, care and craftsmanship – from daily recipes to new innovations like Ocean Flakes. Reflecting Purina's broader commitment to responsible sourcing, selected recipes, including the new Gourmet Perle Ocean Flakes, are made with fish from MSC-certified fisheries.
