Entity Slider
An Entity Slider displays a carousel of images with text. This component can be used for both content and discoverability purposes. There are a number of different variants of this component, three of which are suitable for content purposes: Entity Slider (Banner with Bottom Text), Entity Slider (Caption Right) and Entity Slider (Caption Bottom). There is one variant that is more suited to discoverability: Entity Slider (Banner), that is only included in the Entity Slider page in the Discoverability section of this guide.

When to use
This component is typically used where there is a lot of information to get across, but the information is only one section within a larger page. In a situation like this, we could have three choices:
- Add it into the page as separate sections - this isn’t recommended as this could make the page very long and makes it difficult for users to skim
- Create a new sub-page - in some instances this might make sense, but the information might be better situated in the wider context, in which case we don’t want to create a separate sub-page
- Use a slider
How to use
Main considerations when using this component:
- You should try to keep the slides in a slider bitesize with an image that supports the written content. If you do write enough text in a slide that would cause the component to stretch beyond it's default height, you should try to keep the text lengths on slides similar. Before publishing, review the slider on desktop and mobile to ensure content doesn't display strangely.
- You can have as many items as you need in a slider, however the more items you have, the less likely a user is to view them. Ensure that the key information is in the first couple of slides.
- The auto-slide option on this component is not recommended for use.
- When adding color we should be mindful of the visual hierarchy. Where appropriate we can inject some additional personality with color.
