Nestlé will invest CHF 310 million by 2028 in the nutrition and health segment in Brazil, including for the construction of a new manufacturing facility in Ituiutaba, Minas Gerais, as the company expands capacity in one of its fast-growing and strategic categories.
Representing an investment of approximately CHF 94 million, the new facility in Ituiutaba will be dedicated to the production of infant formula serving both the Brazilian market and export opportunities. The broader investment plan covers upgrades to Nestlé’s factory for nutrition and health products in Araçatuba, the company’s main hub for infant, medical and adult nutrition products in Brazil, as well as the expansion of key ingredients. To help meet growing demand for infant nutrition products in Brazil, whey production will be increased by 15% by 2029.
"Nutrition is one of Nestlé’s key categories globally and today, accounts for around 20% of Group sales," said Jeff Hamilton, CEO of Nestlé Zone Americas. "Brazil is a strategic market for this business, and this investment will expand local production capabilities while increasing access to high-quality, science-based nutrition products."

Expected to begin operations in the second quarter of 2028, the new Ituiutaba facility will create approximately 100 new jobs. It will be Nestlé’s second factory for infant nutrition in Brazil and will be equipped with advanced digital and automation technologies to enhance efficiency, product quality and food safety.
This investment supports the continued expansion of Nestlé in the nutrition and health category in Brazil, one of the company's most important markets globally. By increasing local capacity, Nestlé will help meet growing consumer demand while contributing to innovation, job creation and economic development.
