The Nestlé Academy Fast Start Scheme in the UK has won an award for innovation at the 2014 National Recruitment Awards.
The scheme allows school leavers to earn a debt-free BA (Hons) degree in Professional Business Practice while gaining practical experience in a global business and gaining real career prospects.
The three-year scheme combines study at Sheffield Hallam University, in the north of England, with a series of placements in Nestlé business teams, providing practical experience that supports their studies. In addition, each student has a Nestlé business mentor who can offer help and advice on a range of issues.
The Nestlé Academy Fast Start Scheme funds each student’s studies while also paying a regular salary. It is one of a number of apprenticeship schemes offered across Europe. By 2016, Nestlé aims to have helped at least 20,000 young people find employment across Europe.
