Nestlé recognized in 2022 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index for fourth consecutive year

Bloomberg GEI 2022

Nestlé has been recognized in the 2022 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI) for the fourth consecutive year. It achieved an overall score of 78%, up from 68% the previous year and above the index average score of 71%. The GEI measures gender equality across five pillars: female leadership and talent pipeline, equal pay and gender pay parity, inclusive culture, anti-sexual harassment policies, and pro-women brands.

"We're pleased our efforts to support and champion gender equality are recognized again in this year's index. We know that improving gender balance will lead to better decisions, stronger innovation and higher work satisfaction. This is why we have set measurable goals to track our progress and hold ourselves accountable. It's a journey we are committed to and one where we will challenge ourselves to keep doing better" said Béatrice Guillaume-Grabisch, Head of Group Human Resources and Global Business Services.

Nestlé has made strides to improve gender equality in the workplace. Women hold 43.9% of the company's managerial positions and Nestlé has committed to increase the number of women in its top 200+ senior executive positions to 30% by 2022. The company is on track to achieve this goal by the end of the year.

As the company continues to build a more diverse and inclusive workforce, it has put in place a gender-neutral Global Parental Support Policy. The policy recognizes that parental roles are not solely defined by gender and provides support that is flexible enough to work for any family unit. Nestlé also launched a policy against discrimination, violence and harassment at work, and has started to conduct annual global equal pay reviews to champion equal pay and eliminate conditions that create gender pay gaps.
