Forest Positive is Nestlé's pledge to conserve and restore forests, and support the communities that depend on thriving forest landscapes.
To date, we have achieved 90% deforestation-free supply chains across our five key ingredients: palm oil, pulp and paper, soy, meat and sugar. We aim to achieve 100% deforestation-free supply chains for these commodities by 2022 and by 2025 for cocoa and coffee.
Our Forest Positive strategy (pdf, 11Mb) moves beyond managing deforestation risks in our supply chains to having a positive impact on the critical landscapes we source from. Through our work we will contribute not only to conserving and restoring forests and other natural ecosystems, we will also help improve farmers’'livelihoods and protect human rights.
The protection and restoration of forests and other key natural ecosystems is an integral part of Nestlé's Net Zero Roadmap (pdf, 10 Mb)
Why we need to find solutions to stop deforestation and restore forests
The planet needs trees and thriving forest landscapes to protect biodiversity and keep the planet from warming. But population growth and increasing demand for food mean forests and natural ecosystems are being converted into farms.
