Blue Bottle Coffee started with a simple yet revolutionary idea: to serve delicious coffee, roasted fresh and brewed to order, sourced from the finest sustainable coffee farms. Today, there are more than 100 Blue Bottle cafes across the US and Asia, alongside a growing e-commerce platform and subscription service.
We source our coffees through traceable supply chains, often from producers with whom we have worked on average for five years or more. Then we roast to order in small batches. Roasted coffees are hermetically sealed in a high-density barrier bag with a one-way gas valve that locks in peak flavor until you open them. We're meticulous about the details. For every coffee, we create a custom roast designed for the best expression of that flavor profile - and a scoring system to make sure we hit the mark. We brew our pour-overs on equipment designed by us, built on years of research, while our latte art follows guidelines for consistency and artful presentation. We know the little details matter.

We want to make great coffee while seeking to do great things for the planet - which is why we committed to achieving carbon neutrality in 2024. We already offset carbon emissions associated with shipping online orders in the US, and we're making our practices even more sustainable every day.
For example, we work with coffee producers who prioritize the environmental health of their farms - working to expand regenerative agriculture, discussing climate targets, and exploring ways to accelerate carbon sequestration. On top of that, we're reducing our dairy and transportation emissions while having achieved zero waste in our US production sites since 2022. Through coffee, we're going to care for our people, our communities, and our world.
