We have maintained a strong standing in the index with an overall 2021 environmental, social and governance (ESG) rating of 4.7 out of 5, significantly higher than the Food Products subsector average.
Access to Nutrition Index (ATNI)
Nestlé was ranked 1st out of 25 global food and beverage manufacturers in the 2021 Access to Nutrition Index (ATNI) and the 2018 Access to Nutrition Index (ATNI). The goal of the ATNI is to facilitate improved diets and a reduction in the global problems of both obesity and under-nutrition.
In 2021, Nestlé was rated AA by the MSCI ESG Research for its performance on environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues.
Nestlé continued to be in CDP’s leadership band for Climate Change and scored a B for Water Security and all four Forest Commodities.
We were ranked 2nd within the packaged food industry in Ceres’ Feeding Ourselves Thirsty, an analysis comparing the quality of water risk management of 40 major food companies.
