The ‘It’ chocolate: KitKat with Ruby chocolate one year on

KitKat Everyday Nut and Cranberry

To mark the first anniversary of Ruby chocolate, Nestlé today launched KitKat Everyday Nuts and Cranberry, combining the much-talked-about Ruby chocolate with nuts and dried cranberries. It is a flavor combination championed by pâtissier chef Yasumasa Takagi.

Ruby chocolate, derived from Ruby cocoa beans, has an intense berry-fruitiness taste without the addition of any flavor or color.

KitKat Everyday Nuts and Cranberry resembles small treats, available in bite-sized pieces and one-finger wafer. This new range will be available in retailers in Japan, outside of the KitKat Chocolatory boutiques.

KitKat was the first global brand to introduce Ruby chocolate in 2018, with Japan and Korea as the prime mover. Since then, KitKat with Ruby chocolate has been a huge success globally, currently available in 26 markets. In Japan, KitKat with Ruby chocolate is the best-seller product in the KitKat Chocolatory boutiques, accounting for 30% of sales in 2018.

On the occasion of Ruby chocolate’s anniversary, Barry Callebaut also initiated an online platform www.rubychocolate.com, designed to facilitate the voice of consumers. Through the platform, consumers are able to express their 'rubylicious' moments and share their wishes for artisans and brands to come up with more product innovation using Ruby chocolate.

The launch of innovation like KitKat with Ruby chocolate underlines Nestlé’s commitment to growing its leading international confectionery brands around the world.
